Here we are standing in the doorway into the fuel silo.
Note the standing water at the bottom and the doorway directly across the
room, which seems to be full of dirt (seen spilling out on the the platform).
The equipment platform's function is to aid in the fueling of the missile. A
metal barrier is fitted into the wall on the right, through which the fueling
system accesses the rocket silo, and which prevents the high pressure exhaust
of the launching missile from flooding the fueling room.<P>

Here we are looking up at the ceiling. The hole leads to the surface and
is for lifting heavy equipment and tanks in and out of the silo. Note that
all of the overhead lights in the facility are mounted on shock-resistant
springs so that if the complex were bombed, the ground could shake without
burning out the lightbulbs.
